ABOUT TYSON
MY STORYTyson has been performing for as long as he can remember while dodging learning music theory for as long as he possibly could.
Years later, saxophone in hand, Tyson jammed around town until he helped found the band Sonic Honey and honed his blues skills in just the kind of places his parents warned him to avoid as a youth. With the pandemic driving a lot of home time, Tyson finally resigned to the idea that it was time to explore The Circle of Fifths… why didn’t anyone tell him sooner that music theory was so useful!
He rode through a business degree on a music scholarship. His fantastic collegiate vocal coach asked, after hearing one of his tired musical theater solos, if he ever thought about opera. Tyson just assumed that was only due to the singular volume he insisted on belting, but he took that idea and sang with the Florentine Opera, further delaying his understanding of music.
